Meadowmeer Water Service (MWS) is a Class A community water system serving 334 households within the Meadowmeer community on Bainbridge Island. The water system is an Association owned by its Shareholders and operated as a non-profit organization.
As of July 2025, NW Water Systems (NWS) is our WA state certified water operator overseeing certain aspects of the operations & maintenance of the water system. NWS is also responsible for required WA Department of Health water quality testing that ensures safe water for our shareholders and neighbors.
The Meadowmeer neighborhood was developed starting in the early 1970s as a community consisting of housing and recreation centrally located on Bainbridge Island, turning strawberry fields into a golf course, a community recreation center and homes.
How MWS delivers water to your home
Two water wells draw from the aquifer beneath the neighborhood.
Water is treated via aeration for corrosion control and is then chlorinated.
Treated water is pumped up to a large storage tank.
Gravity feeds water to our customers via a system of water distribution pipes, valves and meters.
NWS handles certain O&M tasks, billing, emergency repairs, and regulatory compliance.
An elected, volunteer board oversees water system business matters, certain O&M tasks, capital planning, as well as our team of sub-contractors.
